A Most Execrable and Barbarous Murder, 1642
I almost made the caption simply say, "NOBODY PUTS BABY IN A CORNER!" I think that's actually funnier. Anyway, I thought the illustration was terrific, especially the way the corpses are all aligned in perfect and symmetrical rows. Those are also some pretty sweet daggers the "East-Indian Devil" has. Too bad he got [spoiler alert!] caught and executed.

You also have to like the murder victim depicted in this passage, who apparently upon seeing the East Indian double-wielding Kris blades opted to embrace death with open arms instead of fleeing/defending himself.
Fun fact: In 2005, the United Nations gave the Kris the title of "Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" for Indonesia, despite the fact that a sword is neither oral nor intangible.
Also, how was the captain a witness to the massacre? Did he get promoted from Cook after the massacre? Or even from boy? From boy to captain is a pretty serious pay raise, even if you did survive a massacre.
Who knows where to download XRumer 5.0 Palladium?
