You know, my blog is pretty good, but I've always held myself to the gold standard of hilarious, literature-based satire: Katie Burgess' Literary Makeovers!!! That's how it's done, folks.
But now, I am excited to announce that I have been invited to do some literary makeovers of my own for National Poetry Month. FINALLY I am a part of the Literary Makeovers team! Dreams do come true!
With respect to my Renaissance roots, there's really only one poet worthy of being made over. I bet you can't guess who I did. (But I will say that the photoshopping is pretty damn good...at least for me.)
Thanks Katie!

We're reading your beloved Earl in a class I'm taking about 18th century theories of vitalism-- the first day my professor said she wasn't sure which poems to use, so she went through and picked out all the ones that used the word "fuck" the most. Grad School's the coolest!
It's great to have you on the team.

-- Haiku by the Earl of Wilmot
hey sarah...guess whaaaat?????
we're reading excerpts from beowulf in english!!!!
just to let ya know!!!
yay my favorite poem!!!!
(i also like the earl's poems)
Doug, that is an excellent haiku. I think Meghan should read that to her class.
And Cassidy...Your favorite poem! I think the best part is when Beowulf rips off Grendel's arms. (But DON'T read the Earl's poems! You're far too impressionable . . . although if your teacher asks who your favorite poet is, say John Wilmot and just see what s/he does.)
