ye olde Mission Statement
Many of you may know of the Internet phenomenon that is LOLCats. Slightly less of you may know how crazy/awesome early modern woodcut illustrations and frontispieces can be. But what joins these two disparate worlds? Well, it may surprise you to know how popular LOL-ing was in the Renaissance. To wit:

This is kind of an amazingly appropriate LOLManuscript, since this manuscript would be around the 100th anniversary of the "Thirty Men of Kirkham" taking over the school/church, a group that apparently needed a nickname so that history could more easily mock their incompetence. According to Wikipedia they eventually had to be bailed out by a (female!) barkeep with an apron full of money.
p.s. I have no life, and sometimes research LOLManuscripts. In doing so, I have never been disappointed.
